Skills: Information Architecture, Wireframing, Content Management,
Southern New Hampshire University is a not-for-profit, regionally accredited university with an 80-year history of educating successful professionals. Working closely with SNHU stakeholders, Miller Systems helped SNHU streamline their web presence and provided a coherent web strategy to integrate and prioritize “SNHU Online,” one of New England’s largest distance-learning programs. We also collaborated with SNHU’s in-house team to design and implement a significant transformation to their main site’s overall look and feel – and bring it into the 21st century.
Information Architecture. Forging a coherent focus to thousands of web pages spread across hundreds of micro-sites was no easy task. Working closely with SNHU stakeholders and other Miller Systems team members, Rob helped SNHU develop an information architecture strategy to prioritize “SNHU Online,” but remain easily navigable by on-campus students and faculty. Although the design has since been changed, the core IA solutions remain in place to this day.
Wireframing. Once the IA was firmly established, Rob drafted dozens of wireframes and functional specifications (hundreds of pages of documentation!) corresponding to the variety of purpose-built experiences required to implement SNHU’s strategy. These detailed plans guided and focused the graphic design and the content management implementation.
Content Management. Led by Rob, the content management team at Miller Systems collaborated with SNHU designers and developers to site strategies outlined in the IA and functional specifications. Not only did Rob help to develop the CMS templates in use for the website, but also created special tools for managing the content migration and site readiness effort within the CMS itself.
